The clothing collection is an impressive array of women’s, men’s and children’s garments and accessories dating from the 1700s through the present. An exceptional group of children’s clothing and an important collection of early short gowns are just a few highlights.

In addition women's clothing and accessories beyond the Quaker community abound in a wide array of styles from early 1800s shortgowns and pockets to 1970s platform shoes.

The clothing and accessories have undergone a preservation survey funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities in March 2008.

The unparalleled Quaker clothing collection is among the groups of materials sought for research in the clothing and bonnet collections.
